SIDS Ministerial Conference on NCDs and Mental Health
The Ministerial Conference convened ministers of health and foreign affairs, WHO leadership and partners to advance Small Island Developing States’ collective response to noncommunicable diseases and mental health.
Strengthening the collective voice of SIDS for advocacy on NCDs and mental health
Juliette supported the development of the session’s concept note, acted as rapporteur and drafted remarks for WHO interventions during the session. The session focused on strengthening how SIDS convene and speak with a collective voice in global advocacy on NCDs and mental health — across WHO governing bodies, the UN General Assembly and partner fora.
Commercial determinants of health
The Economic and commercial determinants of health considerations in SIDS technical paper was first presented in draft form at this Ministerial Conference, and was further refined through the plenary and breakout sessions on multisectoral collaboration and the commercial determinants of health. Juliette contributed to the technical paper and supported WHO’s interventions on the commercial determinants throughout the conference.
