Held virtually on 17–18 January 2023, the SIDS High-level Technical Meeting on NCDs and Mental Health convened WHO and Small Island Developing States to advance cooperation ahead of the June 2023 Ministerial Conference in Barbados.

Invisible Numbers: Communicating the true extent of noncommunicable diseases

Juliette led the development of this session — preparing the session briefs, concept note and script, providing inputs into the presentations and remarks, acting as rapporteur during the session and authoring the subsequent meeting report. The session aimed to sharpen how the true extent of noncommunicable diseases in SIDS is communicated to decision-makers and the wider public, drawing on the data and narratives from WHO’s Invisible Numbers analysis.

Commercial determinants of health

Juliette provided additional support to WHO’s interventions on the commercial determinants of health throughout the meeting, including the deep-dive session on the commercial determinants that fed into the development of the Economic and commercial determinants of health in SIDS technical paper over the subsequent two years.
